Understand
This tool works entirely from the range you type in; it has no way to verify your actual vocal capability and makes no claim about vocal health, strain, or technique. Two singers who both report the same numeric range can still experience a given key very differently depending on tessitura, stamina, and technique this tool cannot see.
Worked example
A melody spanning C4 to G5 shifted by any accepted amount still spans exactly the same interval, a perfect fifth: every accepted shift preserves that span, only its absolute position changes. A shift of zero semitones is only reported as acceptable when the original range already fits inside your stated comfortable range.
Method and limitations
The tool tests every semitone shift from -12 to +12, transposing both melody endpoints by that amount and keeping only shifts where both the shifted low and high notes fall fully inside your declared inclusive range. This launch version does not name a musical key for each shift, since the melody's actual key is not always known from its range alone.
